The MLK Memorial

The first official tournament at the posh Beck Resort & Casino! Incredibly, we had 19 players at three starting tables! It took a while for us to get started, no thanks to this being my first time hosting, but after everyone chipped in (no pun intended), we got off to a blazing start! Six hours later, we had ourselves a winner...

* It wasn't a good night to be like Mike, as both Mike H and Mike S went down early in round 4.
* 9:30 to 10:30 was a dangerous time to play, seeing as nearly half of us went down in rounds 6 through 8!
* Self proclaimed newbies Bruce Y, Doug B, and Tony I showed that beginners' luck only can get you so far, but all made an impressive showing for their first time out.
* Yours truly held out to the middle of Round 8, trying hard to avenge the pulled pork lock-out. But I couldn't hang on to make it to the money.
* After an early Round 1 re-buy, Mark V defied the odds, to make it all the way back to the final table.
* Susan and Mike H brought with them 3 of the 4 top-money players!

Rounding out the money players in 4th was Steve G, who bowed out just a few hands before heads-up play began.

Tim D also was in the green as he was eliminated after a tough hand in round 11 for 3rd.

The lone lady player, Susan H, came in second, but played flawlessly for 12 rounds, taking out player after player at Table Two.

Congratulations Jeff B, who braved the icy highways of NE Ohio to join the fun. His 250 mile trek was well worth the effort, as he took home the top prize (just don't let his wife know)!
